Creative Writing for Social Justice – 7th & 14th June, 2017

Acclaimed poet Elaine Feeney joins Galway Feminist Collective and the Galway One World Centre to hold two consecutive workshops on creative writing with social justice themes.

Art and literature are prisms through which we can view the world around us, as well as creative catalysts for positive social, cultural, political and economic change.

Over the course of two workshops, Elaine Feeney will illustrate how to carefully weave socially and politically progressive issues and ideas in your storytelling and narratives.

We will work to make this an inclusive and accessible space.

Zero writing experience necessary!

Workshops are 10 euro, all inclusive. Free for people living in direct provision. The fee will be used to buy resources for children living in direct provision in Galway.

The workshops will be held on June 7th and 14th from 6-8pm in the Galway 2020 space in the Cornstore.

LITTLE JOHN NEE combines lyrical comic storytelling with original music and songs played on a variety of intriguing instruments, creating magical soundscapes:

“There are parts of Ireland that are less explored than the moon that’s where I go to get my songs”

Little John is widely regarded as one of Ireland’s leading solo theatre performers, and his theatre shows have received critical acclaim, both in Ireland and internationally.
